BREAKING: Florida State Athletic Department Sends Strong Message of Support for Mike Norvell Amid Major Shifts – What’s Coming Next?

Following recent coaching changes, including the firing of offensive coordinator Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, and wide receivers coach Ron Dugans, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell expressed strong confidence in the support he is receiving from the university’s administration. In a media address, Norvell praised Athletic Director Michael Alford and the entire Florida State leadership, including the board of trustees, for their empathy and dedication throughout the challenging process.

Norvell emphasized the tough decisions that were made but acknowledged the unwavering support he has from the administration, highlighting their commitment to moving the program forward. He reiterated that while the team has fallen short of expectations this season, the goal remains to get things right and deliver results that honor the trust and investment from fans, boosters, and stakeholders.

He also pointed to the ongoing facility improvements, including the renovation of Doak Campbell Stadium and the construction of the Football Only Facility, as signs of the long-term vision and commitment to the program’s success. With his leadership and the continued backing of the athletic department, Norvell is determined to restore Florida State to its competitive peak.
