Finance Guru shares if boardroom pressure on Emery after what Aston Villa player did

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist, he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Aston Villa.

Dan Plumley believes that there will be no pressure from above on Unai Emery to start playing Youri Tielemans more at Aston Villa.

The Belgian international came out publically to admit he was not happy with his amount of playing time since moving to Villa Park on a free transfer.

The finance expert admitted that despite probable high wages, while things are positive on the pitch, no one from the boardroom will likely get involved with Emery and his decisions.

“You can have that top-down pressure from those above saying you have to play these players,” he exclusively told Villa News.

We know that happens, but it also doesn’t have to happen which is more the case at Villa where everyone is pulling in the same direction, the director, the strategy and links with Emery, it seems to be that Villa are tying things up on a strategic level.

That then negates the pressure of having to pick this player or drop that one, and everyone is happier when you are winning matches.

I don’t think there is a downward pressure on Emery to play Tielemans despite the wages he may or may not be on, as long as the team is going in the right direction at Aston Villa.

Of course, that’s not great for the player, but there seems to be no pressure on Emery while things are going well.”
