The No. 13 Auburn Tigers return to action tomorrow night to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville.
What did Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl have to say prior to the matchup?
Pearl mentioned how Auburn has struggled with Vanderbilt historically despite having recent success against the Commodores.
Prior to us having won five out of the last six, we had lost 13 straight to Vanderbilt,” Pearl said. “That’s just not that far ago. That’s not that long ago. We are going to work really hard to prepare.”
Pearl talked about the challenge presented by Vanderbilt guard Ezra Manjon.
“Ezra Manjon will be the fastest, quickest, most athletic, smallest guard that we will play against all year long,” Pearl said. “He is the best undersized guard that I think I’ve ever seen score over size. It doesn’t matter who he gets switched up on or what his matchup is. He is going to go downhill and he’s going to find a way to score.”
Pearl discussed some aspects of the game that the Commodores do well.
“Vanderbilt is patient,” Pearl said. “They’ll get you in a situation which I think has been a little bit of a challenge for us.”
