West Brom have confirmed a sell-out crowd at The Hawthorns as they welcome Leeds United in a Championship showdown on Friday 29 December.
This is the second time the Baggies will be performing in front of a full stadium during this season’s Christmas period, also selling out for West Brom’s 1-0 victory over Norwich City on Boxing Day.
West Brom took to their official website to announce the news, thanking the fans for their continued support throughout the 2023/24 season so far.
Make The Hawthorns a fortress
With just six points separating them, West Brom and Leeds are one place apart in the Championship table and a victory for the Baggies could edge them closer to taking the fourth-place spot.
The atmosphere promises to be electric, with West Brom’s support being relentless through the first half of the campaign. But with another half of the season still left to play, the fans will be more important than ever.
The Whites have been free-scoring this season, tallying up the fourth-most goals in the league, while owning the fourth-top scorer and the joint-best playmaker in the division in Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter.
Daniel Farke’s side are not to be messed with but will enter the match slightly wounded from their disappointing defeat to Preston North End. Goalkeeper Illan Meslier was also given his marching orders in the game so there has never been a better time for West Brom to strike.
It will be extremely important to get the Hawthorns rocking before the game and keep the fans entertained in the opening stages of the game. Leeds are likely to hold the majority of possession so a quick start from the Baggies will be vital in getting the crowd to drown out the Leeds voices.
