SOUCY’S SWEET SURPRISE: Canucks’ Statement Brings Joy to Fans Everywhere!

The Vancouver Canucks have extended birthday wishes to defenceman Carson Soucy, who turns 30 today. In a social media post, the team shared a video showcasing highlights from Soucy’s previous season and celebrated his special day with a heartfelt message: “Happy birthday, Carson Soucy!”

Soucy, a native of Viking, Alberta, signed with the Canucks as an unrestricted free agent in July 2023. He agreed to a three-year contract worth $3.25 million annually, keeping him with the team through the 2025-26 season.

During his first season with the Canucks, Soucy was limited to 40 games due to injuries. He missed 42 games in total, including a left foot injury in November from blocking a shot and a knuckle fracture in January, which also resulted from blocking a shot. Despite these setbacks, Soucy contributed six points (two goals and four assists), 12 penalty minutes, and a +10 rating over the regular season. He added five points (one goal and four assists) and six penalty minutes in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
