BILD have said that the actions of rumoured Tottenham target Serhou Guirassy this week have given rise to suspicions that the striker is on his way out of Stuttgart in January.
Tottenham have had issues in converting chances so far this season, and with Son Heung-min potentially set to miss an entire month of football in the New Year due to the Asian Cup, the Lilywhites might need to enter the market to shore up their attack. One of the centre-forwards mooted as a target for Spurs is Guirassy, with TEAMtalk revealing two months ago that the Lilywhites could battle the likes of Newcastle and West Ham for the player in January.
A few weeks ago, journalist Dean Jones also told Ranks FC podcast that Spurs are monitoring the Guinea international forward, who is thought to have a release clause of €17.5m (£15m) on his contract.
Guirassy hints at a farewell amid Tottenham links
Bild’s latest update comes as a potential boost to Tottenham’s chances of landing Guirassy, with the outlet revealing that the striker has given a major hint about his future.
After Stuttgart’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal on Thursday, where the 27-year-old opened the scoring for his side in the 54th minute, he allegedly addressed the fans in the MHP Arena with ‘very personal words’.
The publication asserts that Guirassy said ‘thank you for everything’ to the Stuttgart fans after the final whistle, which ‘almost sounded like farewell words’.
