Levi Wallace, an undrafted free agent who began his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills in 2018 and spent the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, is set to visit the Denver Broncos. If signed, Wallace would bring experience and depth to the Broncos’ cornerback position. He has played in 83 games, making 70 starts, and has recorded 305 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 12 interceptions, and 54 pass deflections throughout his career.
The addition of Wallace would provide competition for second-year corner Riley Moss and third-year corner Damarri Mathis in the battle for the starting job opposite Pat Surtain in the Broncos’ secondary. Moss, who was acquired by the Broncos in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, had limited opportunities on defense due to injury last season. Now healthy, Moss will be pushing for a starting role. Wallace’s signing would offer insurance and depth if Moss doesn’t meet expectations.
Mathis had a promising rookie season but struggled last year and was benched. He is now not only competing for a starting position but also fighting for a roster spot. Adding a veteran like Wallace would provide the Broncos with depth and insurance in case Mathis continues to struggle.
