Raheem Morris Confident in Falcons’ First-Time Play-Calling Coordinators: A Closer Look at Morris’ Trust in New Offensive and Defensive Minds

Raheem Morris' Hiring Garners Universal Praise: Falcons' Choice Hailed by Fans and Peers

Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, and other coaches have expressed their confidence in Morris as a head coach, and many fans quickly changed their opinions after witnessing his enthusiastic and transparent introductory press conference at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Morris’s ability to build an All-Star staff and attract big names in free agency through his relationships with players and coaches is seen as one of his most intriguing attributes as a head coach.

Even though free agency is still a month away, Morris has already made a significant hire by adding highly sought-after offensive coordinator candidate Zac Robinson to the Falcons’ coaching staff. Robinson will take on the play-calling duties for the team, despite not having previous experience in that role. Similarly, the new defensive coordinator, Jimmy Lake, has yet to call plays. However, Morris has full confidence in both of them due to their extensive knowledge base and their existing relationship dating back to their time in Tampa Bay.

Rather than solely focusing on calling defensive plays, Morris intends to have involvement in all areas of the team. This broader role is common among successful head coaches like Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh, and Sean McDermott.
