Former Vols QB Hooker’s Ultimate Sacrifice: The One Thing He Had to Do After Tennessee’s Heartbreaking Loss

Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Hendon Hooker found himself in a less-than-thrilling situation after Tennessee’s 31-17 loss to Georgia. Hooker, now with the Detroit Lions, paid off a wager with his teammate and ex-Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm by donning a Georgia hoodie, as revealed on Instagram.

A Humbling Moment for Hooker

Fromm shared the moment on his Instagram story, featuring a not-so-enthusiastic Hooker in the red and black Bulldogs gear. Hooker later reposted the image with a sarcastic caption: “I look soo thrilled.”

A Betting Tradition

While Tennessee’s current NFL alumni have celebrated more victories than losses this season, thanks to the Vols’ impressive 8-2 record—including wins over rivals Florida and Alabama—the team’s struggles against Georgia persist. Remarkably, no former Vols player in the NFL has won a bet against a Georgia counterpart since 2016.

Looking Ahead

The Vols and Bulldogs are set to face off again in Knoxville during the 2025 season. Tennessee fans will be eager for redemption, hoping next year’s result leads to a Georgia player sporting Tennessee orange instead.

For Hooker, this playful rivalry adds another chapter to his post-college football journey while Vols supporters dream of brighter days against their SEC rival.
