Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell entered Saturday’s game against LSU with a clear objective: to silence the Tiger Stadium crowd.
The Alabama defense, led by Campbell, crushed LSU’s home-field advantage with an impressive 42-13 win. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound junior linebacker was a key contributor throughout the game, recording 1.5 sacks, forcing a fumble, breaking up a pass, and tying his season-high with 12 tackles.
Following the game, the IMG Academy alum shared insights into the mindset that fueled Alabama’s intense and dominant defensive display.
“We went into the game with violent intentions — that was the whole mindset,” Campbell explained. “We didn’t worry about their stadium or their fans or how they try to hype up the crowd. We were focused on playing as a unit and going out there to hit people hard.”
Campbell and the Crimson Tide’s defense continue to improve as they vie for a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
