JUST IN: Avery Johnson Shares Kansas State’s Blueprint to Defeat Arizona State

Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Avery Johnson recently shared the team’s approach following a tough upset loss to the Houston Cougars, where weather conditions challenged their gameplay. While Coach Chris Klieman and receiver Keagan Johnson brushed off the rain as an excuse, Johnson acknowledged the impact, explaining that the rain limited their playbook and contributed to offensive struggles. Johnson emphasized the need to sustain drives better, minimizing three-and-outs to avoid overburdening the defense.

With a bye week to recalibrate, Kansas State prepares to host Arizona State on Nov. 16. Johnson noted that the Sun Devils may attempt to stifle the Wildcats’ run game, particularly targeting star running back D.J. Giddens, who was slowed down against Houston.
