John Eustace lamented the freak own goal which kickstarted Preston North End’s comeback victory over Birmingham City.
Krystian Bielik put through his own net five minutes after Jay Stansfield had given Blues a deserved lead at Deepdale. Miscommunication between Bielik and Kevin Long led to the former putting through his own net.
Milutin Osmajic netted the winner for Preston in the 67th minute to condemn Blues to back-to-back defeats in the Championship.
“I thought we were excellent tonight,” said Eustace. “We played some fantastic football. We set up differently tonight than we did at Watford. At Watford we had to be more defensive and looked to play in a different style. Tonight we knew we would be able to play football against a good Preston team and dominated with and without the ball.
