Top cornerback recruit Jontavius Wyman has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, choosing them over Tennessee, Miami, and Oregon. Wyman, a three-star prospect and the 12th-ranked cornerback in the 2026 recruiting class, officially announced his decision on Saturday morning. He is also ranked as the No. 154 overall recruit by 247Sports.
Wyman, who received an offer from Georgia in May, cited the Bulldogs’ winning culture and their commitment to supporting players’ lives beyond football as major factors in his decision. He praised Georgia’s defensive strategy, which involves using corners in various roles like man-to-man coverage, zone defense, and blitzes, and highlighted the strong track record of their coaching staff, including defensive backs coach Donte Williams and safeties coach Travaris Robinson.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Wyman hails from Jonesboro, GA. In the 2023 season, he accumulated 37 tackles, 12 pass breakups, and five interceptions as a cornerback, while also making 37 receptions for 602 yards and seven touchdowns as a receiver. Additionally, he played some quarterback, throwing for 286 yards and five touchdowns, and is known for his achievements in track.
With Wyman’s commitment, Georgia now has two recruits for the 2026 class, joining five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
