The Montreal team of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) has announced that forward Claire Dalton has signed a one-year contract extension. This agreement ensures Dalton will continue with the team for the upcoming season, although specific financial terms were not disclosed.
Danièle Sauvageau, the general manager of the Montreal club, expressed enthusiasm about retaining Dalton, citing her contributions and potential for further development. Standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall and hailing from Etobicoke, Ontario, Dalton notably scored the first-ever goal for the Montreal team on January 2nd in a game against Ottawa. Additionally, she achieved the team’s second-ever hat trick by scoring three goals against Ottawa on February 24th.
Throughout the season, Dalton accumulated a total of five goals, four assists, and a plus-3 rating across 20 games. Her selection by the Montreal club came in the 12th round of the inaugural PWHL draft, where she was chosen 67th overall.
Under Sauvageau’s leadership, Montreal looks forward to Dalton’s continued contributions as they aim to build upon their successes and strengthen their presence in the PWHL.
