Benji Marshall’s side are keen to keep hold of the fan favourite.
The Wests Tigers have reportedly made Adam Doueihi an improved offer to stay at the club but the fan favourite could be on the move at the end of the season, with two rival NRL clubs linked with his signature. One of those clubs is reportedly the Dragons, where he underwent a medical at the end of last season, despite no deal being forthcoming.
The other club said to be showing interest in the versatile ball-player is four-time defending premiers Penrith, who could view Doueihi as an ideal replacement for Luke Garner, who it’s understood has been granted permission to seek opportunities elsewhere. Doueihi has performed in a number of roles for Benji Marshall’s side, ranging from centre to the halves and even at lock, where he starred in Sunday’s thrilling one-point win over the Titans.
Doueihi kicked the last-minute field goal for the Tigers that snatched a 21-20 victory over Gold Coast in front of a packed crowd at Leichhardt Oval. The 26-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of the season and his signing with powerful player agent Isaac Moses has led to renewed speculation he could leave for an NRL rival in 2026.
Nine league reporter Michael Chammas confirmed there is interest in Doueihi from at least one rival club but says Tigers officials met with the player recently and are keen to hang onto him. “There’s definitely a chance (he could stay at the Tigers),” Chammas told Nine’s 100% Footy on Monday night.
The Tigers have met with Adam Doueihi. They want to keep him. The original offer, I believe, was around $350,000. My understanding is that they have upped that in recent days to maybe around $400,000. But the Dragons are circling.”
Dragons renew their interest in signing Adam Doueihi
Shane Flanagan’s Dragons are set to lose experienced forward Jack de Belin to Parramatta next year and their halves issues have been well publicised in 2025, meaning Doueihi’s signing would make a lot of sense. The 26-year-old underwent a medical with the Dragons at the end of last season after returning from the third knee reconstruction of his career, but a move never eventuated.
However, Chammas says the Dragons are again looking at bringing Doueihi to the club next season after being impressed by his versatility with the Tigers. “It gives them a ball-playing lock option, utility, can kick goals, we know he can play in the halves, in the centres,” Chammas said. “So, the Dragons are having discussions with his management about bringing him to the club next year.”
The Panthers have also been linked with a move for Doueihi, following reports they have granted permission for two-time premiership winner Garner to leave one year early if he can find a new club for 2026. Doueihi would be a logical replacement for the versatile Garner, but also give them another option in the halves to play alongside champion No.7 Nathan Cleary.
“I’m hearing Adam Doueihi is in talks with Penrith Panthers in a deal starting as early as next year,” The Triple M Whisper said in a segment on Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Tarsh & Woodsy. It comes after Doueihi only offered a cryptic response when asked about his future last week. “Ask the big boss, Richo,” Doueihi said in reference to Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson. “We’ll see what happens.”
