Liverpool aims to secure a remarkable signing from PSG and plans to sell three players to finance the deal following the transfer of Florian Wirtz.

The Premier League champions may be poised for a significant summer in the transfer market.

Liverpool is reportedly looking to sell three players to fund the acquisition of Florian Wirtz and a highly-rated PSG star.

As the reigning champions of the Premier League, Liverpool is gearing up for a significant summer under manager Arne Slot, who enters his second season at Anfield.

The club has been closely linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz. On June 11, journalist Fabrizio Romano provided an update, stating, “EXCLUSIVE: Florian Wirtz to Liverpool, HERE WE GO! Liverpool has verbally agreed on a deal in principle with Bayer Leverkusen for a package reaching €150m, including add-ons.” He added that the player had agreed to the move two weeks ago, and a medical and contract signing are imminent.

The reported €150m (£127.4m) fee would set a new transfer record for both Liverpool and British football. To finance this deal, reports suggest Liverpool may sell Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz.

Additionally, Liverpool is prepared to compete with Bayern Munich for PSG winger Bradley Barcola. The 22-year-old was part of PSG’s treble-winning squad last season, having joined from Lyon for £38m in 2023. Despite his talent, he often came off the bench and may find it challenging to displace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the first-choice left winger under Luis Enrique.

The Guardian mentions that Liverpool might offer around £100m for Barcola. The club is also interested in Newcastle forward Alexander Isak, but the Magpies’ £150m asking price could be a hurdle. Furthermore, Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is linked with a move to Anfield, with teammate Justin Kluivert suggesting, “He’ll probably go there, I hope so for him,” while on international duty with the Netherlands. Bournemouth values Kerkez at approximately £40-45m. Liverpool has already secured right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen for £29.6m.
