Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa may be on the move again this summer, with Napoli emerging as a possible destination, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà.
In his column for CaughtOffside, Pedullà noted that Napoli had shown interest in Chiesa while he was still at Juventus. Although he eventually transferred to Liverpool, his time at Anfield has not gone smoothly.
As Napoli seeks to strengthen their squad under new manager Antonio Conte, Chiesa has reappeared on their radar. His limited playing time in the Premier League has raised doubts about his future, making a return to Serie A a possibility.
Pedullà stated: “Napoli is preparing for a significant summer transfer window. After spending around €130–140 million last year, they’re ready to invest even more. Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be their first major signing, with a medical already planned. However, that’s just the beginning. Sam Beukema and Federico Chiesa are also on their list. Conte has long admired him. Napoli attempted to sign him before, but he chose Liverpool instead. His stint there hasn’t worked out—he’s had few opportunities under Arne Slot, and that isn’t likely to change. A return to Serie A, especially under Conte, is now a genuine possibility.”
Chiesa’s move to Liverpool happened just last summer, but it seems he may not fit into the club’s long-term plans. With tough competition for attacking positions, including players like Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo ahead of him, Chiesa could be among the first to be transferred as Liverpool reorganizes their squad.
