Shane Beamer had a special surprise for a South Carolina fan who just turned 100 years old.
Virginia’s family reached out to the Gamecocks football program to see if they’d be willing to send her a signed ball for her special day.
Beamer, though, took it a step further. Take a look below as the Gamecocks head coach took the drive to Virginia’s house to deliver the ball in person:
Beamer mentioned the fact that Virginia was helping park cars at Williams-Brice Stadium into her 90s.
“God bless you,” Beamer said with a laugh.
These days, Virginia is unable to make it out to South Carolina games due to her age, but she remains a fan even to this day.
“How have you been able to stay as healthy and sharp as you are?” Beamer asked.
“Well, I’ve just lived a good life,” she replied.
Here’s hoping for many more birthdays for Virginia. She certainly will be watching as the Gamecocks take the field in search of a long-awaited College Football Playoff berth and possible national championship.
Regardless, it was a nice surprise for a fan who has lived a long life.
