The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are mourning the death of 12-year-old Beau Hewitt, a devoted fan who touched the lives of players, staff and supporters alike.
The footy-mad youngster, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in April last year, passed away this week.
The club released a heartfelt statement on Wednesday morning: ‘Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents and family of Beau Hewitt – who sadly passed away.
A beautiful and brave young boy who loved life, loved his footy, and loved his Sea Eagles. Rest in Peace little champion.’
Beau captured the attention of many in the NRL world in 2024 when Tom Trbojevic performed a special try celebration just for him while playing against the Titans.
The lovely gesture was most appreciated by Beau and his family, with the young fan bursting into tears while watching from hospital.
The youngster, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in April last year, was visited in hospital by Trbojevic brothers (left to right) Ben, Jake and Tom.
