Tim Sherwood was amazed by Tottenham Hotspur star Dejan Kulusevski’s performance against Nottingham Forest last night.
The North Londoners were the favourites to win the game, but the City Ground under the lights is never an easy place to go to. Kulusevski, however, produced a fantastic performance and won Tottenham the game.
Tim Sherwood says Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski is built like a boxer
Dejan Kulusevski is having his best season in a Tottenham shirt right now.
The Swede has always been a tremendous footballer, but he seems to have taken his game to a whole new level since Ange Postecoglou‘s arrival in the summer.
Kulusevski was absolutely brilliant last night. He was a threat from the very first minute of the game, and he became even more dangerous after he was moved to the right wing.
The 23-year-old assisted Richarlison for Tottenham’s opener and then took advantage of Matt Turner’s mistake to score a good goal himself after the break.
Kulusevski gets a ton of praise for his quality on the ball, but one of his most underrated traits is his strength. It’s really hard to get him off the ball, and Tim Sherwood believes it’s because he is ‘built like a boxer’.
He said on Premier League Productions: “He has got everything, this boy. He really has. He has got wonderful ability.
“This (right-wing) is his favourite position, really. He can come inside or, like with the goal, he comes on the outside. You don’t know which way he’s going to go.
“He is just impossible to mark. When you stand next to this kid, he’s 6ft 3. He is built like a boxer. You wouldn’t want to get close to him, he’ll just push you away.
“I love this kid. I think he is top-drawer!”
Kulusevski can get even better for Tottenham
Dejan Kulusevski’s performances went under the radar at the start of the season because of his numbers.
The Swede managed just two goals in his first 10 Premier League games this term. He has scored three and picked up two assists in his last seven, which is so much better.
Kulusevski looks like a man high in confidence. Ange Postecoglou’s system is really bringing the best out of him, and he’s improving every single game. Sherwood went as far as saying he’s the most underrated player in the Premier League.
The good news for Spurs is that Kulusevski is still only 23 years old. He will get even better in the coming years, and that will make Tottenham a much more dangerous side than they already are.
