HE’S ALREADY TIRED: Ex-Vikings QB Kirk Cousins Gets More Bad News After Falcons Benching

The Chicago Bears are reportedly considering a bold move in their search for a new head coach. According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Bears are interested in speaking with Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Carroll about their vacancy. Breer’s comments were made during the Amazon Prime pre-game show for the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Bears and the Seattle Seahawks.

Carroll, who has built successful programs both in college at USC and in the NFL with the Seahawks, is reportedly open to returning to coaching in 2025. While his interest in the Bears’ job is noted, it appears that he’s also keeping his options open and is in discussions with other teams with head coach openings.

This mutual interest between Carroll and the Bears could be a game-changer for the franchise. Despite Carroll not being the top choice for everyone, his winning track record makes him an attractive candidate. The Bears, who have struggled with leadership and consistency in recent years, could potentially benefit from Carroll’s extensive experience in running successful football teams.

However, it’s important to note that the Bears are also evaluating other potential candidates. Leadership is a key factor in their search, and a strong plan for developing the quarterback position is a top priority. Among the leading candidates mentioned is Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson, who has earned significant praise for his work with quarterbacks and his leadership qualities.

Other potential candidates include Mike Vrabel, Aaron Glenn, and Kliff Kingsbury, with connections to the Bears’ organization. Brian Flores, a former college teammate of GM Ryan Poles, is another name worth watching. The search is still in its early stages, so it remains to be seen which direction the Bears will ultimately go.

This coaching search is expected to take time, potentially lasting until February. As the Bears continue to vet candidates, the potential for a high-profile hire like Pete Carroll keeps fans and analysts intrigued about the future of the franchise.
