"Newcastle United Injuries: Wilson, Isak, and Willock on the Road to Recovery"

Newcastle United faced two new injury setbacks during their match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening. Anthony Gordon’s ankle injury turned out to be less severe than initially anticipated, allowing him to start and play the full 90 minutes in the team’s 3-2 victory. However, Jacob Murphy experienced a tight calf and had to withdraw during the warm-up. Additionally, Callum Wilson encountered difficulties with his arm in the closing stages of the game.

Speaking about Wilson’s injury, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed some concern, stating that while his shoulder was fine, there appeared to be an issue with one of the muscles in his arm. The extent of the injury is yet to be determined, and the club is hopeful that it is not serious.

Furthermore, Newcastle has other players on the road to recovery. Alexander Isak is working towards a return from a groin problem, while Joe Willock and Elliot Anderson are also progressing after lengthy absences. However, Howe cautioned that there is no certainty regarding Willock’s return until he is back on the field. Willock has been sidelined for most of the season due to an Achilles injury, experiencing a setback after a brief return. Anderson, on the other hand, is facing a minimum of four months out after sustaining a stress fracture in his back in October.
