Tennessee football pulled off a stunning move on early signing day, flipping four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte from USC. The Peach State native, ranked as the No. 282 player nationally and the No. 30 linebacker in the 2025 class, had been a target for the Vols for months.
Originally committed to Georgia, Perlotte shifted to USC over the summer despite Tennessee’s strong push following his official visit to Knoxville. However, the Vols’ persistence paid off on signing day, landing the highly coveted linebacker despite USC’s efforts to retain him.
Perlotte, who has been instrumental in Buford High School’s 12-1 record and deep playoff run, becomes Tennessee’s second signing day flip, joining three-star defensive back Timothy Merritt, who decommitted from Miami earlier in the day.
With Perlotte on board, the Vols now boast four linebackers in their 2025 class, including four-stars Jaedon Harmon and Christian Gass, as well as three-star Brenden Anes. Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class, consisting of 26 commits and signees, currently ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC, according to 247Sports.
