Four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph, once committed to the Florida Gators, has made another dramatic decision, flipping his commitment from Florida State to Georgia Tech. The announcement comes just one day after Florida handed FSU a resounding 31-11 defeat, capping off a dismal 2-10 season for the Seminoles.
Joseph initially pledged to Florida in January 2024 before decommitting in April and joining Florida State’s 2025 recruiting class. His decision to leave FSU reflects a growing trend, as the Seminoles recently lost other top recruits to rival programs, including the Gators.
Florida has been on a recruiting hot streak, flipping four-star quarterback Tramell Jones, three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis, and four-star running back Byron Louis. The Gators are also making a strong push to flip five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, who attended their game against FSU.
Despite the loss of Joseph, Florida State will fight to retain its remaining top recruits as the early national signing day approaches. Meanwhile, Florida head coach Billy Napier is capitalizing on the momentum of three consecutive wins, including two against ranked opponents, to secure a high-ranked recruiting class.
Napier emphasized the significance of on-field success in recruiting, stating, “Winning is the ultimate proof of our formula. The last few weeks have demonstrated that our program can teach, develop, and succeed.” As the transfer portal opens and signing day looms, the Gators aim to finalize their class and solidify their roster for the future.
