Auburn Tigers tight end Micah Riley has officially declared his intention to transfer, marking the second reported departure from Auburn since the conclusion of their season. Riley, a three-star recruit ranked as the No. 26 tight end nationally and the No. 4 prospect from Nebraska, played 29 games during his tenure but did not record any starts.
Riley’s contributions included just three receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns over three seasons, with limited involvement in 2024 due to his backup role behind veterans Luke Deal and Rivaldo Fairweather. As Auburn looks ahead, the tight end group will rely on Brandon Frazier, Rico Walker, and incoming 2025 recruits Ryan Ghea and Hollis Davidson, although the unit remains light on experience.
Riley’s decision to transfer follows quarterback Holden Geriner’s similar move, as the Tigers prepare for a roster shakeup when the transfer portal opens on Dec. 9. Auburn will need to quickly address these losses to maintain depth and competitiveness heading into 2025.
