Ohio State Fans Want Ryan Day Fired After 4th Straight Loss To Michigan

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day finds himself under intense scrutiny following yet another crushing loss to Michigan, marking his fourth consecutive defeat in the rivalry. Despite entering the game as heavy favorites, with a more talented roster, a superior quarterback, and significant momentum, the Buckeyes faltered, leaving fans and analysts questioning Day’s ability to handle high-pressure moments.

Critics point to Day’s conservative offensive play-calling as a major factor in the loss, arguing it lacked the necessary risks to secure a win. As a result, the calls for his dismissal have grown louder across social media.

One fan didn’t hold back, tweeting, “Ryan Day deserves to be fired.” Another added, “Ryan Day, Chip Kelly, and Jim Knowles all NEED TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!”

Another outraged Buckeyes supporter wrote, “Ryan Day and Chip need to get fired before they hit the locker room. That was perhaps the worst game I’ve watched the Buckeyes play in 45 years. Just an abomination.”

The frustration stems from more than just the loss. Day’s inability to deliver victories in high-stakes matchups has become a recurring narrative, leading one fan to call it a “travesty” if he isn’t removed.

Day Speaks Out

Ahead of the game, Day acknowledged the personal weight of previous losses to Michigan, stating, “It’s one of the worst things that’s happened to me in my life, quite honestly…for my family, the worst thing that’s happened.”

Despite the crushing defeat, Ohio State’s College Football Playoff hopes remain alive. However, this loss has undoubtedly intensified the pressure on Day. If he cannot lead the Buckeyes on a deep playoff run, his future with the program could be in jeopardy.

Will Ryan Day rally Ohio State and prove his critics wrong, or is the program poised to make a major change? Stay tuned.
