BREAKING: George Kittle Reunites with High School Teammate During Emotional Week 12 Military Flyover

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle shared a heartwarming moment during the Week 12 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, reuniting with his former high school teammate, SSgt. Brandon Minto, who was involved in the military flyover before the game.

A Friendship Beyond Football

Kittle, who played alongside Minto on the Norman High School football team, was thrilled to see his old friend participating in the KC-46 U.S. Air Force flyover before the 49ers-Packers contest. Minto, now serving with the 97th Air Mobility Wing based in Oklahoma, made sure to reach out to Kittle as soon as he learned he would be performing the flyover for the game.

“It was awesome,” Kittle said, reflecting on the moment. “I was telling everyone, ‘Hey, that’s my buddy!’” He also made sure to share the special connection with the 49ers staff on the sidelines, pointing out Minto’s role in the flyover.

A Fun Throwback to High School Days

The two shared a laugh about their high school football days, with Minto joking about one memorable moment when he “mossed” Kittle during a game. Despite Kittle playing safety, Minto managed to make a big catch, and the two still reminisce about their competitive yet friendly rivalry.

“I still talk about it,” Minto said with a smile. “You tried to come over the top, but I still caught it.”

Minto’s Special Gift to Kittle

Before their exchange ended, Minto honored Kittle with a 56 Air Refueling Squadron patch and a boom operator coin, a meaningful gesture recognizing their bond and Minto’s military service.

“Tell the boys I said ‘What’s up!’ and ‘That was a hell of a flyover,’” Kittle said as they parted ways. “Love you, man. Great to see you, brother.”

Kittle’s Ongoing Dedication to the Military

This reunion also highlights Kittle’s ongoing commitment to honoring military and veteran communities. He has been nominated for the 2024 Salute to Service Award, recognizing his dedication to supporting those who serve.

The emotional moment between Kittle and Minto underscores the lasting friendship forged on the football field, proving that the bonds between teammates can go far beyond the game.
