Kentucky Wildcats head coach Mark Pope has shared a fascinating story about sharpshooter Koby Brea that showcases his passion for the program and its iconic home court. Long before donning the Kentucky jersey, Brea attended a Drake and J. Cole concert at Rupp Arena in March, but it wasn’t the music that excited him most.

During the Wildcats’ postgame radio show following their 108-59 blowout victory over Jackson State, Pope recounted Brea’s visit to Rupp Arena during the concert.
“Koby said, ‘Man, this is Kentucky,’” Pope shared. “His girlfriend asked, ‘Are you more excited about Drake or Rupp?’ He said, ‘I’m more excited about Rupp.’”
That love for Kentucky’s basketball cathedral now serves as the backdrop for Brea’s electric start with the Wildcats.
