Florida State punter Alex Mastromanno has once again been recognized among the nation’s elite, earning a spot as one of 10 semifinalists for the prestigious Ray Guy Award, given annually to the best punter in college football.
The Melbourne, Australia native leads the nation with an extraordinary average of 48.9 yards per punt, outperforming his peers by over a yard. His dominance includes:
48 punts totaling 2,347 yards.
26 punts over 50 yards, the highest in the country by a margin of seven.
16 punts inside the 20-yard line with just one touchback, showcasing pinpoint accuracy.
Mastromanno’s remarkable season has included standout performances such as his 52.2-yard average against Boston College, which earned him Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week honors. He is also a four-time recipient of the Ray’s 8 Award, celebrating weekly punting excellence.
Already Florida State’s all-time leader in punts (245), punt yards (10,941), and average per punt (44.66), Mastromanno continues to cement his legacy. Last year, he became the program’s first-ever Ray Guy Award finalist.
