The Penrith Panthers have entered a landmark three-year partnership with York RLFC, aiming to support the growth of rugby league across all levels. This partnership connects the reigning NRL champions, Penrith Panthers, with York Knights, a top UK championship team, and York Valkyrie, the back-to-back Women’s Super League champions.
Focusing on youth development, commercial innovation, and international pathways for both men’s and women’s leagues, the collaboration promises significant benefits for both clubs. Panthers CEO Matt Cameron expressed excitement about the alliance, emphasizing that it will facilitate shared knowledge and resources, boosting the sport’s development. He added that Penrith is eager to learn from York Valkyrie’s success as they work toward building their own women’s pathway to eventually enter the NRLW.
York RLFC Chairman Clint Goodchild echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting a strong connection between the clubs that’s developed over the past two years. Goodchild praised Penrith’s achievements in youth and community development, stating that having access to their model is valuable as York prepares to launch its own academy.
