Recently, ESPN College GameDay’s Kirk Herbstreit shared an update on his cherished Golden Retriever, Ben, who had been undergoing chemotherapy after a leukemia diagnosis in March and the discovery of additional cancerous masses. Sadly, as the cancer continued to spread, Herbstreit made the difficult choice to say goodbye to his loyal companion.

Ben was more than just a pet; he was a certified emotional support animal who traveled nationwide with Herbstreit, often appearing on set and even on the field during major college football games. Known for his calm and friendly temperament, Ben became a fan favorite, winning over the hearts of football fans across the country who followed his courageous battle with cancer.
