BREAKING: Gators Legend Issues Strong Endorsement of Florida’s QB Ahead of Georgia Clash

Gators legend Tim Tebow has thrown his full support behind freshman quarterback DJ Lagway as Florida heads into a crucial Week 10 matchup against Georgia. Tebow believes that if the Gators are to pull off an upset at the annual “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” it will be due to Lagway’s performance. According to Tebow, Florida’s path to victory relies on Lagway’s quick decision-making, his dual-threat ability, and his deep-passing accuracy.

“His key to the game, it has to start by being a quick decision maker… and he has to be a threat in the run game,” Tebow said, adding that Lagway is one of the best deep ball throwers in the country. With nine completions of 30-plus yards, Lagway ranks second in the FBS, despite limited playing time.

However, Tebow cautioned that the young quarterback must avoid forcing plays, especially in a high-stakes environment like this. “You have the hopes and the dreams of the team and most of Jacksonville riding behind you. You just can’t force it,” Tebow warned. Tebow’s endorsement highlights Lagway’s potential, but he emphasized the importance of patience and discipline in big moments.

Lagway’s rise has also impacted the job security of head coach Billy Napier, whose decision to start the freshman over veteran Graham Mertz appears to be paying off. Yet, Tebow notes that Lagway’s success could be critical for Napier’s future with the program, especially if he can lead Florida to a bowl game.
