TRADE TALK CLARIFIED: Mark Davis Delivers Strong Message About Maxx Crosby—Fans React

In a definitive move to quell speculation, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has made it clear that the franchise has no intentions of trading star defensive end Maxx Crosby. Amid reports linking Crosby to the Detroit Lions, particularly after the latter lost standout pass-rusher Aidan Hutchinson to a severe leg injury, Davis took to email to assert his stance to ESPN’s Adam Schefter: “We’re Not Trading Maxx Crosby. Before Or After The Trade Deadline!!!”

While the history of sports executives reneging on promises looms large, Davis’s commitment to Crosby appears solid. The three-time Pro Bowler has established himself as the heart and soul of the Raiders, consistently demonstrating his loyalty to the organization both on and off the field.

Through the first six games of the 2024 season, Crosby has been a force on the field, recording 6.5 sacks and 23 combined tackles, along with 10 tackles for loss—tying him for the NFL lead with Houston’s Will Anderson Jr. His impact is undeniably significant, making him a critical asset to the Raiders’ defense.

As the trade deadline approaches, it remains to be seen how other teams will respond to Davis’s firm declaration. For now, the Raiders and their fans can breathe easier knowing their star defensive end is not going anywhere.
