Panthers fans can breathe a sigh of relief as star halfback Nathan Cleary is set to make a quicker-than-expected recovery following shoulder surgery. Cleary, who will undergo the Latarjet procedure on November 4, is expected to be ready for Penrith’s NRL season-opener in Las Vegas on March 1, 2024, against Cronulla.
Although Cleary missed the opening rounds of the 2022 season due to a similar surgery, this time he’s expected to recover faster due to less extensive damage. He’ll be back in training within six weeks, focusing on passing and running drills, though tackling and wrestling will be off-limits until mid-February.
