UGA Shakes Up Recruiting: Offers Scholarship to 4-Star USC WR Commit

The Georgia Bulldogs have recently extended a scholarship offer to Romero Ison, a four-star wide receiver who is currently committed to the USC Trojans. Ison, part of the class of 2025, has been pledged to USC since April 2024.

Ison plays his high school football at Milford Mill Academy in Gwynn Oak, Maryland, near Baltimore. According to 247Sports, he is ranked as the No. 358 recruit in the 2025 class. Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds, Ison is also recognized as the ninth-best recruit in Maryland and ranks 52nd nationally among wide receivers.

During his junior year, Ison had an impressive performance, accumulating significant statistics with a total of 2,653 yards, 69 receptions, and 20 touchdowns.

As of now, Georgia boasts the fifth-best recruiting class for 2025, under the leadership of head coach Kirby Smart. The Bulldogs have secured 21 commitments for this class, which includes four wide receivers.

The Bulldogs have been particularly active on the recruiting front during their recent bye week, and on September 18, they officially offered a scholarship to Ison.

Notably, Georgia has successfully flipped one high-profile recruit from USC in the current recruiting cycle. The question now remains: can Kirby Smart and his staff achieve this feat once more with Ison?
