BREAKING: Dolphins Place TE Tanner Conner on IR to Make Room for Tyrel Dodson – Here’s Why

The Miami Dolphins have made a move to accommodate the waiver claim of linebacker Tyrel Dodson by placing tight end Tanner Conner on injured reserve. Conner sustained a knee injury during the first half of Monday night’s win over the Los Angeles Rams. He had been playing a key role on special teams and had also contributed offensively, recording three catches for 16 yards and three tackles this season.

Conner, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022, has appeared in 24 games and made one start over his three seasons with the Dolphins.

Dodson, a fifth-year linebacker, joins the Dolphins after spending his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills and briefly with the Seattle Seahawks in 2024. Over his career, he has accumulated 199 tackles, 6.5 sacks, six pass deflections, and forced two fumbles with two recoveries.
