Ask Roosters star Luke Keary if he has any NRL regrets and he might say none… until he remembers a 2015 incident that left a Sharks legend wanting to “kill him.”
Speaking to Fox League’s Jake Duke, the veteran half initially revealed there was nothing about his esteemed NRL career that he’d do differently.
“Regrets… No, no I don’t. Obviously good times, bad times, different things,” he said.
That was until he remembered an incident between himself and Paul Gallen during the Rabbitohs semi final showdown with Cronulla nine years ago.
“I nearly eye gouged Paul Gallen in 2015 in the semi final. I probably regret that!
“I remember I was scared the rest of the game because he said he was going to kill me,” he laughed.
Answering 17 questions from Duke as part of his Face to Face interview next Monday night, Keary made a surprising revelation about his favourite Roosters memory. Spolier… it wasn’t a grand final.
The 32-year-old, who departs the Bondi club at the end of this season to take up a Super League deal with Catalans, also shed light on what teammate Brandon Smith is really like and revealed a little-known fact about coach Trent Robinson.
