After securing a commitment from one of the top Trojans recruits for the class of 2026, the Georgia Bulldogs experienced a setback on Tuesday. Four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte, who had been committed to Georgia since December 2022, announced via X (formerly Twitter) that he is joining Lincoln Riley and the Southern California Trojans’ 2025 recruiting class.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 202 pounds, Perlotte hails from Buford, Georgia. He is ranked 118th nationally and 16th among linebackers by 247Sports. During his last season at Buford High, Perlotte recorded 55 tackles, eight tackles-for-loss, two sacks, and an interception.
Before his final decision, there were speculations that Perlotte might switch his commitment to Tennessee. His move to Southern California elevates the Trojans to the 25th spot in national recruiting rankings. Conversely, Georgia now has only one linebacker commitment remaining, five-star Zayden Walker. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs maintain their position at third in the rankings, behind only Alabama and Ohio State.
