Max Domi’s $15M Off-Season Training: Watch the Maple Leafs Star Push His Limits

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is currently engaged in intensive off-season training with professional coach Brian Kula. Kula, who operates Kula Sports Performance, uses advanced scientific techniques to enhance athletic performance. A video shared on the Kula Sports Performance Instagram page highlights Domi’s rigorous regimen, which includes running on a treadmill to improve his sprinting speed, as well as strength training focusing on his legs, core, biceps, and shoulders. The video also shows Domi performing squats with heavy weights and various shoulder and calf muscle exercises. The caption notes that Domi reached speeds of 20.9 MPH during his training, underscoring the intensity of his workouts.

On July 1, Domi signed a new four-year, $15 million contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs, which equates to an annual salary of $3.75 million. This contract secures his place with the team for the next four seasons, a significant move given his proximity to free agency. Last season, Domi contributed 47 points—nine goals and 38 assists—in 80 regular-season games and added four points in seven playoff games. Reflecting on his new contract, Domi expressed satisfaction, appreciating the opportunities he’s had to play with various teams and learn from numerous coaches. He described his signing as a “blessing in disguise” and expressed his excitement about continuing with the Maple Leafs.

Domi’s signing is a notable development for the team, especially as the future of another key player, Mitch Marner, remains uncertain. Marner, who is in the final year of his 2019 contract, is eligible for an extension as of July 1. However, there are growing rumors about a potential trade involving Marner, adding a layer of intrigue to the team’s off-season activities. Despite the Leafs’ recent first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Boston Bruins, Domi is pleased with his extended stay and optimistic about the future with the team.
