The Auburn Tigers are still in contention for securing Andrew Babalola, a five-star offensive tackle from Blue Valley High School in Kansas, for the 2025 recruiting class. Babalola is highly ranked as the 15th overall prospect and the top player in Kansas, as noted by On3’s Steve Wiltfong. This 6-foot-6, 280-pound lineman could be a game-changer for Auburn, which had issues with quarterback protection last season, allowing 34 sacks, the fifth-highest in the SEC.
However, Auburn’s prospects of landing Babalola are slim. On3 gives them only a 1% chance, with Stanford currently leading the race with an 88% probability. Michigan and Oklahoma follow with much lower chances. Despite the recent buzz, Auburn faces an uphill battle to secure Babalola, and achieving this would be a significant upset.
Babalola would be the highest-ranked offensive recruit for Auburn if they manage to sign him. The Tigers have already committed three offensive linemen for 2025, including one four-star and two three-star recruits. Their top offensive recruit so far is four-star wide receiver Derick Smith from Southside High School in Alabama.
Despite the challenges, Auburn’s recruiting efforts are strong. They currently hold the fifth spot in the national rankings according to 247 Sports and sixth according to On3. This represents a notable recovery from a drop into the low teens earlier in the summer.
