Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker truly wowed by £50m player Tottenham want to sign this summer
One Tottenham Hotspur target has impressed everyone at Euro 2024.
Spurs have been more active than some of their rivals in this transfer window, but there’s still a lot of work to do in the coming weeks.
Ange Postecoglou would ideally want a new signing in all four areas of his pitch – backups in goal and in defence and starters in midfield and attack. They have been linked with a number of names in each of those positions.
One of their targets put on a show at Euro 2024 on Tuesday night, and Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker are both beyond impressed with his display.

Spain have reached the final of Euro 2024 after knocking France out of the competition.
La Roja have exceeded expectations in Germany this summer. Everyone knew they were a talented outfit, but nobody really saw them as serious contenders to go all the way.
Spain now have just one final hurdle to pass before they can be crowned as the European champions, and there is no reason why they can’t do it, especially with Dani Olmo in their side.
The RB Leipzig star has only started two games for Luis de la Fuente’s team at Euro 2024, but he has been magnificent for them.
Lamine Yamal stole all the headlines against France and he was magnificent. However, Olmo deserves a lot of credit for his goal which proved to be the winner in the end.
Lineker and Shearer were beyond impressed with the way Olmo got on the ball, flicked it past his opponent and then found the back of the net. They have now raved about him.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Lineker said: “The Olmo goal was pretty brilliant as well, wasn’t it? I mean, the flick, the hook, the flick, the finish.
“I’m glad they gave it to him because at one point they were just giving it as an own goal. And it looked like it was probably gone in the corner anyway.
“And I don’t even know why they have to have this forensic thing now, whether it’s, even if it had been just hit in the post or something, they’re probably taking it off him.”
Shearer added: “His touch was outrageous, wasn’t it? So good!”
Tottenham target Olmo’s release clause expires soon
Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign Olmo for a few months now.
The Spaniard has a lot of admirers, with TBR Football exclusively revealing in June that Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been informed about Olmo’s release clause, which is set at £50 million.
The 26-year-old can be signed by any club if they trigger his release clause. However, there is an expiry date on that agreement.
Olmo’s release clause is only valid until the 15th of July for Tottenham and other interested clubs. Beyond that date, clubs will have to negotiate a fee with Leipzig, which could be higher than £50 million following his spectacular Euro 2024 campaign.
It will be interesting to see what will happen, but if Tottenham want to sign Olmo, they will have to act quickly.
