Yankees rookie Ben Rice has made a pledge in the event that his team secures a World Series victory.
Rice endeared himself to Yankees supporters after delivering a stellar performance with three home runs in a decisive 14-4 triumph over the Boston Red Sox last Saturday. Derek Levandowski, a Yankees enthusiast who hosts a social media postgame analysis show, had publicly committed to shaving his head if Rice managed to hit his third home run during that game.
True to his word, Levandowski followed through and shaved his head.
Following this, Rice appeared as a guest on “Foul Territory” on Monday, where he was asked if he would also shave his head should the Yankees clinch the World Series title.
“Sure, sure,” Rice responded affirmatively.
The rookie first baseman expressed admiration for Levandowski’s bold gesture.
“I love it. This is the kind of stuff I like to see,” Rice remarked about Levandowski’s commitment.
Should the Yankees, currently holding a record of 55-37, secure their first World Series championship since 2009, expect to witness a flurry of buzz cuts among fans in the Bronx.
