Tottenham fans to be thrilled with Dusan Vlahovic signing amid Fabio Paratici links
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic would excite the majority of Tottenham fans this summer, Paul Robinson has said.
According to Football London [25 June], Spurs have tracked the Serbian forward in previous transfer windows, with former managing director of football Fabio Paratici said to be an admirer of the player.
Ange Postecoglou looks to be searching for a new striker option at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the club unable to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich last summer.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “That’s a player who would be of interest at Tottenham. He’s a top-quality player and he’s proven at the top level. He’s a similar player to Mitrovic, who he plays with for the Serbia national team.
“He’s a player that would fit in, he would lead the line and press from the front, and is very similar to Mitrovic, hence why the manager struggles to play them together because they have similar styles.
“With the links to Paratici, he’ll know the player very well. That would be a signing that excites Spurs fans – he’s a proven goalscorer at international level and club level. If you’re looking for someone to play as an out-and-out No.9, he’s very good for that.”
Tottenham to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer
The 24-year-old was on Spurs’ radar during his time with Fiorentina before Juventus snapped up the striker’s signature in January 2022.
Despite being somewhat underwhelming for the Old Lady, he has managed to notch 41 goals in 101 appearances and continues to perform well for Serbia, scoring 13 goals in 30 games.
The striker situation has been a problematic one for Postecoglou since his arrival in London, with few players able to achieve what Kane has done in the No.9 position.
Though Vlahovic is unlikely to be an exact replacement, the addition of him to the squad could be a rather interesting one this summer.
