This signing marks a return to form for Fischer, who previously played with the Arizona Coyotes during the 2022-23 season, amassing 27 points over 80 games.
Since entering the NHL in 2016-17 after being drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Fischer has accumulated a total of 130 points in 477 games between his stints with the Coyotes and the Red Wings. His career highlights include a rookie season in 2017-18 where he achieved personal bests with 15 goals, 18 assists, and 33 points. Fischer’s professional journey began after his successful tenure with the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he accumulated 106 points in 120 games from 2013 to 2015.
Before turning professional, Fischer showcased his skills with the Ontario Hockey League’s Windsor Spitfires during the 2015-16 season, recording an impressive 90 points in 66 games. His performance on the international stage has also been notable, winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and another gold at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
