Wilson, who is set to make his debut as a starter this season, has been sidelined due to Achilles tendonitis. Despite the setback, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has noted that Wilson is making progress. Smart explained that Wilson has been working on the side and has managed to increase his practice intensity, suggesting that he is improving and could be ready for the season opener against Clemson on August 31.
If Wilson remains unavailable, backup center Drew Bobo is expected to take his place. Additionally, there is a possibility that Tate Ratledge could be moved to center with Micah Morris stepping into the starting lineup. The Bulldogs are also feeling the impact of losing their previous starting center, Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, who was a key player last season. Van Pran-Granger, who was drafted into the NFL in 2024, earned recognition as the SEC’s top offensive lineman for his performance in 2023.
