Four-star offensive lineman Jackson Lloyd has committed to play football at the University of Alabama. This is Alabama’s seventh commitment in the last three weeks. Lloyd received his scholarship offer from Alabama just three days after the school hired new offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer, making him the first recruit to get an offer in the post-Nick Saban era.
Lloyd’s official visit to Alabama’s campus on June 14 seemed to solidify his decision, leading him to shut down his recruitment plans to visit USC. In his announcement, Lloyd shared he is “COMMITTED 🐘 #ROLLTIDE”.
This commitment boosts Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked 3rd nationally. Lloyd is the 17th player to pledge to Alabama’s 2025 class, joining fellow offensive linemen Mal Waldrep and Michael Carroll. He is ranked as the 17th best prospect in California, the 19th best offensive tackle, and the 146th overall recruit in the 2025 class.
Lloyd’s father cited Alabama’s program history, development opportunities, and elite coaching staff as key factors in his son’s decision over other top contenders like Ohio State, USC, Tennessee, Oregon and Stanford. The family, including Lloyd’s sister who is a big Alabama fan, is very excited about his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
