The Brisbane Broncos have dropped 3 places in the rankings and now sit outside the top 8 after Round 15. They have lost their last 3 games, including against the Titans and Rabbitohs – teams they were expected to easily defeat.
In the loss to the Rabbitohs, the Broncos showed some strong rushing edge defence at times, but had too many defensive lapses, like the try scored by Damien Cook. Additionally, their talented offensive players like Selwyn Cobbo, Ezra Mam, Kotoni Staggs and Tristan Sailor were unable to breach the Rabbitohs’ leaky defence until the 66th minute.
With the bye in Round 16, the Broncos will have a chance to rest and reset their players. They will then travel to Auckland in Round 17, where they hope to have star fullback Reece Walsh back from Origin duties to help inspire the team out of their current poor form.
