BREAKING: Tennessee Coach Josh Heupel Offers Key Update on QB Nico Iamaleava Ahead of Crucial Georgia Matchup

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel announced Monday that quarterback Nico Iamaleava is expected to be in “great shape for Saturday” as the Volunteers gear up for a major SEC showdown on the road against Georgia. Iamaleava, who exited their Week 11 game against Mississippi State with a head injury, is being monitored but remains on track to play.

Before leaving the game, Iamaleava delivered an impressive first half, throwing for 174 yards and two touchdowns. This strong start stood out after his recent struggles in SEC matchups, where he has reached a 70% completion rate only once.

With playoff aspirations on the line, the Volunteers (8-1, 5-1 SEC) are determined to snap Georgia’s seven-game winning streak against them. Iamaleava’s presence will be crucial as Tennessee aims to strengthen its College Football Playoff bid and make a statement against Georgia (7-2), who are also fighting for a playoff position.
