Luka Vuskovic has impressed on loan at Polish side Radomiak Radom in the second half of this season, but he can’t stay there next year. In fact, he needs to step up to a higher league, or he won’t be allowed to play in England — here’s why.
Spurs may be assembling an impressive squad for the here and now under Ange Postecoglou, but the Lilywhites are also building for the future, too.
The signing of Luka Vuskovic last summer is proof of that. The then-16-year-old cost Spurs £12m (TNTSports), but is unable to join up with the Premier League outfit until he turns 18.
Tottenham decided to move Vuskovic away from Hajduk Split in the middle of the season, arranging a loan move to Poland, with Radomiak Radom to help the young centre-half gain experience.
That move has worked wonders, with Vuskovic, now 17, turning in impressive displays in Poland, and even registering three goals and an assist in his 14 appearances.
Vuskovic will move to Belgium or Netherlands
So, what’s next for this prodigious talent? Well, he can’t stay in Poland, at least not if Spurs want him to be a part of their squad when he joins up with them next summer.
According to Polish outlet Weszlo, Vuskovic has not earned enough GBE (Governing Body Endorsement) points to play in Britain at this stage, and he won’t gain the required amount by playing in Poland.
Though Vuskovic is thought to “like it” at Radom, he has only acquired four points so far with a 15-point threshold needing to be met before he can play in England. Therefore, he will need to join a “stronger league” next season.
It is suggested that Vuskovic will now join a team in Belgium or the Netherlands to boost his numbers ahead of his arrival in London in 2025.
