Lennon Miller has admitted he is focused on Motherwell after Barry Ferguson urged Rangers to sign the midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The former Ibrox captain heaped praise on the teenager whilst urging Philippe Clement to not ignore the talent already in the Scottish Premiership having been left stunned by his senior debut against the Gers [Daily Record, 31 May].
Although Miller has admitted he enjoyed the compliments from Ferguson, the 17-year-old has insisted that he isn’t interested in getting carried away and is instead keeping his head down under Stuart Kettlewell.
As quoted by The Rangers Review (31 May) he said: “I’m a wee bit too young to remember Barry as a player but I obviously know he was Rangers captain and was a really good player, so to have somebody like that give you compliments, it was nice.
“People like that who have played the game at the level he has obviously know what they’re talking about but I just need to focus on myself and keep trying to get better every day.
It’s obviously nice having people talking about you but I’m not really interested in that. It’s about keeping my head down and focusing on my work at Motherwell and seeing what happens.”

Rangers need to recruit sensibly this summer. While Clement would likely prefer to go out and splash the cash on a number of foreign players, the Belgian will have to be more measured in his approach having missed out on the title.
While there is absolutely no problem with recruiting from abroad, the Gers boss needs to ensure that he gets the right blend of players throughout his squad. With Ryan Jack and potentially Robbie McCrorie leaving, the homegrown talent is few and far between.
Miller has already shown that he is more than capable of making the step up to play at Ibrox as he impressed for Motherwell in Glasgow earlier this season. He isn’t the finished article, but he is an incredibly exciting talent.
If the right deal can be struck, the Light Blues simply have to try and get it over the line. The 17-year-old may say that he is completely committed to Motherwell, but a bid from Rangers would definitely turn his head.
